MyDaddyPuzzles

Meet Ryan Ringel, a devoted dad who started making puzzles for his sons. Here’s his story:

My two sons love puzzles. The eldest will put a puzzle together over and over again, never tiring on fitting the pieces together. Over the years, my wife and I have purchased many puzzles for him, and he loved them all. Unfortunately, too often the puzzles carried by local retailers are cheaply-produced, made from plywood or pressboard. They end up in the mouths of our children and the paper sticker turns to pulp, which only adds to the destruction of the puzzle. Over the years, I hunted for better-made puzzles, but I was sorely disappointed with the options.

One Saturday afternoon, that all changed when I caught "The New Yankee Workshop" on PBS. The host was using a scroll saw to cut out the back of a chair. He was making exact and intricate cuts with the saw. As he pulled a couple of the pieces apart, I was inspired – using a scroll saw, I could make any kind of puzzles my son might like! This started my creative juices flowing, and I began to draw puzzle patterns. The first puzzle I cut was a fish, and my son loved it. Soon he was making requests. In no time at all we had ten puzzles for him to play with.

MyDaddyPuzzles are 100% made in the United States of America. We use poplar grown and harvested in South Carolina. We hand sand, paint, stain and seal them in our home in Alexandria, Virginia with materials manufactured in Ohio. We use ASTM D-4236 compliant stains and paints that are non-toxic and are tested and approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commmision.

Our puzzles are beautifully-made and are as fun to display as they are to play with. We are very proud of our puzzles. Proud that we made them with our hands and proud that they are 100% made in the USA.
